Define emotions & moods and explain the difference
Emotion: Intense feeling toward someone or something and tend to event specific and brief in duration and often come with a facial expression
Mood: Feelings that tend to be less intense than emotions and that lack a contextual stimulus and often general/ unclear cause and longer lasting that emotions
What are the six universal emotions?
- Happiness
- Suprise
- Fear

What are the types of affectivity explain each and some traits for each.
Positive affectivity: Experience positive moods & emotions and view the world in a positive light. Tend to be cheerful, enthusiastic, lively, sociable, and energetic
Negative affectivity: Experience negative emotions
& moods and View the world in a negative light
Tend to be distressed,depressed, and unhappy
What is a positive offset?
A tendency of most individuals to experience a mildly
positive mood in neutral situations

What are the two kinds of emotion?
Felt emotion: An individual’s actual emotion
Displayed emotion: Emotions that an organization
requires workers to show and consider appropriate
What is emotional dissonance?
Where there is a difference between felt emotion and displayed emotion
Define emotional intelligence (EI)
One’s ability to be self-aware, detect emotions in
others, and manage emotional cues and information
What have studies concluded about EI and job performance?
