What is cognitive dissonance and give an example?

A

Any incompatibility between an attitude and an attitude or behaviour.
For example, wanting to be a healthy person but also want to rest to be productive work the next day

  1. Alter Attitude: I’ll eat better rather than exercise
  2. Alter Behaviour: Treadmill while watching shows
  3. Justify: Walking to the refrigerator is exercise
  4. Deny / Ignore: Exercise is fake news, I know someone who’s 100 yrs old and never exercised
