  • Ulipristal = 120h limit (progesterone receptor modulator)

  • Should be taken asap as decreased effectiveness over time
  • 84% effective if used before 72h

-stop ovulation and implantation

  • N+V (need another pill/IUD if occurs)
  • Abdominal pain, headaches, breast tenderness

Acute porphyria

A

MOA
-Inhibit ovulation

May reduce the effectiveness of hormonal contraception

  • Need period of barrier methods
  • Hormonal contraception started/restarted 5 days after use

CAUTION

  • Breastfeeding delayed for 1 week
  • Caution in severe asthmatics
