March 1571Ridolfi leave England to discuss plot with Pope, Phillip II & Duke Alba (stationed in Netherlands)
Ridolfi had letter Duke Norfolk saying was Catholic & would lead rebellion (gaining Phillip II support
Phillip II told Alba prep 10 000 men & send them to England if necessary
Uncovered by sir William Cecil in Autumn 1571
Had enough evidence (letters in code) prove Norfolk guilty plotting against Elizabeth I again (high treason)

Elizabeth I sign Duke Norfolk death warrant (executed June 1752)
Elizabeth I refuse take action against MQS (even bar her from succession)
