Electro Cardio Gram Theory Part 1 Flashcards

1
Q

What Is Depolarisation ?

A

Depolarisation means the electrical signal is moving across the cardio cells and will lead to muscle contraction

Q

What does the P Wave represent

A

The SA node lays high in the wall of the atrium and initiates ATRIAL DEPOLARISATION.

Q

What is the PR segment

A

After the P wave there is a return to the iso electric line (flatline). This results in the PR segment (flat line just before Q wave)

Q

What is the ST segment

A

Represents the period between the end of ventricular depolarisation and the start of repolarisation

The ST segment MUST return to the iso electric line

Q

What is the T wave

A

This is VENTRICULAR REPOLARISATION
They should be about an eighth of the height of the corresponding R wave
