Electrical circuits for domestic gas appliances, and gas controls Flashcards
All electrical circuits need these three components in order to work
Power source, a power switch, a a power consumer (load)
These four main circuits are used in controlling gas fired appliances
Serious circuits, parallel, circuits, series/parallel circuits series and parallel circuits
The circuit has more than one current pathway each separate pathway can be controlled individually
Parallel circuits
These circuits, the series portion of the circuit controls the parallel circuit. The parallel portion of the circuit will have two or more power consumers being controlled by one or more switches wired in series to the load
Series/parallel circuits
In this type of circuit, a series circuit is wired to another circuit in parallel with a common power source
Series and parallel circuits
The resistance in this circuit is additive and will always be higher than the highest resistor in the circuit
Series circuits
The resistance in this circuit is the sum of the reciprocal of all the resistance, and will always be lower than the lowest resistor in the circuit
Parallel circuits
What four basic factors are gas control controls operated by
Heat (temperature), pressure, level or flow
When this control switch causes its contacts on a rise and temperature, pressure, level or flow, it is said to make on rise that means the switch contacts clothes and make or complete the circuit when what is being sensed increases
Closed contacts switch
This fan control switch in standard deficiency furnaces have adjustable on and offset points. The blower is off during standby and will not come on until the gas valve opens and allows. The furnace to heat up before activating the blower
Heat activated switch
These diagrams are used to determine the sequence of operation for various components in order to see how the appliance
