Who became PM after Liverpool?
A
Canning 1827. But died later in the year. Then Goderich who only lasted 4 months, then Wellington 1828 with Peel as home secretary.

When was the Catholic Emancipation Act passed?
A
Liverpool tried in 1825 but was defeated, and it was eventually passed in 1829.

When was the Repeal of Test and Corporation Acts?
A
- Anyone who held a position in the office had to be confirmed into the Anglican Church. This shows people were becoming more tolerant.

When was Peel’s Metropolitan Police Force founded?
A
- It was done in an attempt to reverse the upward trend of crime rates and took a while to establish an efficient and effective force but it was a start.

What was the Corn Law Sliding Scale?
A
- Substituting the fixed rate of duty for a sliding scale so that when there’s a poor harvest, corn prices wouldn’t rise so much. Brought in by Peel- Wellington (PM) resisted.
