Canning 1827. But died later in the year. Then Goderich who only lasted 4 months, then Wellington 1828 with Peel as home secretary.

Liverpool tried in 1825 but was defeated, and it was eventually passed in 1829.

  1. Substituting the fixed rate of duty for a sliding scale so that when there’s a poor harvest, corn prices wouldn’t rise so much. Brought in by Peel- Wellington (PM) resisted.
