what are league tables?
schools with good results only attract those who do better.(m/c) less successful schools end up with less able students.
what is the funding formula?
schools are funded on how many students they recruit. the fund is put towards good schools getting more money and improving staff.
when were new labour policies introduced?
1997- 2010

all schools encouraged to become academies, some owned by private chains and other by the goverment

the parliament have discussed the reintroduction of grammar schools
