16
Q

Will a EDG start with a loss of 100# Ctrl Air?

A

No, because if 100 # (control air) system is lost, TCC extends on loss of air

18
Q

When do run relays energize and what functions do they perform

A

Run relays energize at 95% running speed.

  • Start support equipment
  • Interlock for output breaker closure
  • Disable incomplete start circuit
  • De-energizes starting air valves SV-1 and SV-2
  • Input to load conservation circuit

21
Q

Are the EDG trip relays energize or de-energize to trip?

A
  • Energize to Trip
22
Q

Are the EDG start relays energize or de-energize to run?

A
  • De-Energize to run

1/bus – want to run if lost power

23
Q

Is the EDG considered Inop during a surveillance?

A
  • EDG is INOP during testing because the Load Shed signal is deactivated
24
Q

When the TCC extends, what is it doing?

A
  • Forces the fuel racks closed
25
Q

What does TS 3.8.3 State?

A
  • If FOST level is between 39,500 gal and 46,000gal of fuel oil restore volume to within limits
26
Q

What does TS SR 3.8.1.6 have you verify?

A
  • That each air receiver is ≥ 190#
27
Q

What will happen on a loss of ctrl air to the TCC?

A
  • It extends
28
Q

What does TS 3.8.1 Require?

A
  • 2 EDGs operable M 1-4 & opposite 1 EDG from opposite unit to support ESW
29
Q

How is ctrl air designed to fail on a loss of 250V DC?

A
  • Valves will fail in a position such that a control air pathway will be available to the TCC
30
Q

What is the EDG auto trip with a loss of 250V DC?

A
  • Mechanical Overspeed
31
Q

What supplies power to the EDG 1Kv inverter

A
  • 250V DC Battery Charger/Battery
32
Q

Will a loss of 250v DC cause the EDG to be in operable?

A
  • Yes, A loss of power will render the EDG inoperable, it can not auto start and load.
33
Q

If you lose normal power to the HVAC supply or exhaust fan, what does it swap to?

A
  • The EDG will power it
34
Q

IF the EDG output Bkr is in closed or Lockout position, what does it defeat?

A
  • Defeats Load Shed
35
Q

What loads sequence on during a load shed w/out an SI?

A

CCW pump
ESW pump
MDAFW pump
NESW pump

36
Q

What loads sequence on during a load shed w/an SI?

A
  • CCP
  • SI pump
  • RHR pump
  • CCW pump
  • ESW pump
  • MDAFW pump
  • CTS pump (Starts when Phase B active)
  • NESW pump (Starts/Then Trips if CTS/ Phase B active)
37
Q

If you have a load shed without an SI, will your CCP auto restart?

A

No it won’t, you will have to manually restart it

38
Q

What does TCC do when the HEA trips?

A

Extends [Fuel Racks close]

39
Q

Will loss of one Jacket Water pump cause the EDG to be inop?

A

No

40
Q

What are the EDG stops (not trips)

A
Control room switch
Local push button (HEA trip)
Control Room push button (HEA trip)
Manual Fuel Valve (only when DC is off)
Incomplete start
Diesel HEA trips
41
Q

When are the Loadshed available lights on

A

When the EDG output breakers are open.

Will remain on if output breakers are in pull to lock.

42
Q

If there’s an SI then a blackout what happens to EDG loads

A

Loads will re-strip & sequence on

43
Q

If there’s a blackout then an SI what happens to EDG loads

A

ECCS loads will not strip. Load conservation loads will strip and any ECCS loads not already loaded will sequence on.

44
Q

Does a loss of DC power cause the EDG to trip

A

If the EDG is already running it will not trip on a loss of DC power because SV-6 keeps air on the throttle control cylinder

45
Q

On a loss of the 1kV inverter what happens to the speed transmitters and Woodward Governor

A

They are transferred to the EDG PT output AND EDG control fails to remote

46
Q

When is speed droop mode in effect

A

While the EDG is being paralleled

47
Q

What does it mean to be in speed droop mode

A

When the grid frequency drops the EDG throttles fuel to lower EDG speed (prevent the EDG from picking up ALL grid load)

48
Q

Explain what happens on an incomplete start sequence

A
  • Stops giving air to EDG after 10 seconds if not at rated speed
  • Energizes the start relays
  • De-energizes the starting air valves
  • Extends the Throttle control cylinder for 2 mins
  • Seal-in circuit prevents start of EDG until reset from the control room
49
Q

When is the turbocharger jet assist used and for how long

A

Rolled by starting air for 20 seconds ONLY on a fast start

50
Q

Will loss of 1 fuel oil transfer pump cause the EDG to be inoperable

A

No

51
Q

Will loss of HVAC cause the EDG to be inoperable

A

Yes
