Life would be hard with freezing temperatures grizzly bears and hostile Indians such as the Blackfoot tribe

The Indians became more hostile to the trappers as they brought diseases such as smallpox sand fur became less fashionable and the Beavers were becomes extinct
What is a rendezvous?
This is a yearly party for the tappers. Once a year the trappers would meet at a trade spot where they would trade there belongings and would end up in a drunken party with the trappers squandering much of there years money
Why did pioneers move west?
Because of the Great Depression in the 1930’s as wages were cut so many people moved to California because of the gold rush

The Oregon trial took them through Missouri, across the plains through the Rocky Mountains to Oregon

What was life like as a miner?
Those who survived the journey were disappointed. All the good mining sites were gone and they had backbreaking jobs with little wages
