What hardships did a Cowboys have to endure?
1- freezing winter cold line camps 2- danger of being trampled 3- danger of drowning 4-rain hail and burning sun on the long drives 5- having to stu awake all night 6- having drag on the long drive (dust from the herd) 7- getting attacked from Indians 8- getting attacked by rustlers
What is line camps?
Taking daily rides in the winter to stop drifting cows
What was big riding in the spring for?
To haul up all the cows and round them up and j. The summer they also went on trail drives to the market
What was the trail bosses job?
Is in charge of driving
How was Cowboys life similar to Indians?
- They were dependant on natural products
- they moved around a lot
- they cared for cattle
- their food and clothing would be from cattle
- the round up was a community event
What were many Cowboys?
Black ex slaves where as Hollywood heroes were always white

What kind of conflict took place between the cattle ranchers and homesteaders?
- homesteaders where scared that cows would trample on their crops
- worried if cows brought diseases such as Texas fever infecting their animals
- land boundaries
