Describe how to perform a full Rinne test
Hit the tuning fork and hold the base on the mastoid bone. Then ask the patient when they can no longer hear the sound. After, bring the tuning fork in front of their ear.
A negative test is when they can still hear it in front of their ear. This is normal
Describe how to perform a Weber test
Hit the tuning fork and hold the base in the midline of the forehead. The sound should be equal on either side. If the patient hears it louder on one side, this side is the affected side
