Dysrhythmias Flashcards
Atrial fibrillation tx
warfarin, cardioversion if unstable
Atrial flutter tx
caumadin, O2, digoxin, calcium channel blockers, beta blockers
SVT tx
Vagal stimulation, O2, IV adenosine, cardioversion if unstable
Ventricular Tachycardia tx
Pulseless/sustained: rapid D fib, followed by vasopressors like epi, and antidysrhythmics (Amiodarone)
Second degree block Mobitz I tx
symptomatic: O2, atropine, possible temp pacemaker
asymptomatic: observe with a subcutaneous pacemaker available
Second degree block Mobitz II tx
O2, atropine, permanent pacemaker
Third degree block tx
O2, atropine, permanent pacemaker, drugs like epi/dopamine to increase HR and BP
Asystole tx
CPR, epi or vasopressin (shocking wont do anything)
What med are you gonna commonly give for SVT
IV adenosine
How to administer adenosine
Initial dose of 6mg RAPID PUSH, if another dose is needed; 12mg RAPID PUSH
How to administer Atropine
0.5mg q 3-5min, up to 3 mg
What is atropine used for?
bradycardia and junctional
How to administer Amiodarone?
300mg IV, next dose is 150mg
**very toxic
When do you give epi?
cardiac arrest. stimulates the heart
How to administer epi
1mg q 3-5min or 2-10mcg/min
**vasopressin can be used in place of 1st dose
