A

obstructive defect is present. (FEV1 has fallen to a greater degree than FVC

FEV1/FVC greater than normal

A

Normal or restrictive defect. Look at FVC if less than normal restrictive is present. confirm with with TLC if it is less then predicted

Mixed vs Air trapping

A

If FVC is below normal. Mixed is if the TLC is lower than normal. Air trapping is in severe cases of obstruction. normal TLC but higher than normal RV (pseudorestriction)
