Gland that is located in the anterior neck on trachea just inferior to larynx.

- Calcitonin
A tyrosine based with 3 or 4 iodine molecules T4 (thyroxine) and T3.

Involved with calcium and phosphorus metabolism.

They produces thyroglobulin, the precursor of thyroid hormone (thyroxine).
