Factors that influence the BZD pharmacokinetics
A
They are very lipophilic drugs and they are absorbed ery fasts. They cross the BBB very fast and they normally are metabolized in the liver, where some resulting metabolites are active. for that the hepatic function of the patient needs to be correct. We have to take special attention for elderly or in some casses of hepatic diseases. The best BZD are the ones which are faster eliminated.
