- ‘regularly’ during treatment
When should a lithium level be taken? And what is normal range?
Lithium range = 0.4 - 1.0 mmol/l
Take 12 hrs post-dose
When should a ciclosporin level be taken?
Trough levels immediately before dose
When should you take a digoxin level?
at least 6 hrs post-dose
When should phenytoin trough levels be measured?
- adjustment of dose
- suspected toxicity
- detection of non-compliance
When should a gentamicin level be checked?
6-14 hours following the first dose
When should a vancomycin level be checked?
Trough immediately before a dose
check within 48 hours of starting medication
DO NOT withhold next dose whilst waiting for trough to come back
When should a tacrolimus level be checked?
Pre-dose trough
