Potassium supplements

KEY for Cephalsporins
Keflex, Ceftriazone
people who are allergic to penicillin may be allergic to cephs
considered beta-lactam

erythromycin, azothromycin
A ton of drug/ drug interactions
increase risk of arrhythmias, prolong QT, GI upset
keys for Tetraclyclines
tetracyline, doxycline,
stains tooth enamel
do not combine with antacids, iron
keys for sulfonamides
Trimethroprim-sulfamethazole
avoid in G6PD ( causes jaundice )
dont give in 1st and third trimesters
keys Flouroquinolones
cipro, floxin
dont combine with antiacids or iron
HYPOglycemia, CNS agitation, tendonitis, awhiles tendon rupture
