Q

Certificate of Waiver

A

Responsibility of Remote PIC.
If operation can’t be conducted within regulatory structure, remote PIC must propose a safe alternative. I want to fly at night, here is why, here is how I’m going to do it safely. This Certificate of Waiver, can deviate from provisions, as long as proposed operation can be safely conducted. Example: night operations, visual line of sight, operation over people.
After online application, FAA will determine if it can be conducted. If denied, will receive a notification. If waiver is granted, you’ll receive direct notification with 7711-1, specific special provisions. This then becomes required documentation.
Start 90 days out is recommended. 90 days before planned flight.
