Dna Replication Flashcards
1
Q
How many chromatids do humans have and how many copies of each??
A
There are 23 types of chromatids and 2 copies of each.
2
Q
What does replication result in?
A
Replication results in identical copies, but if the process is not accurate, then genetic mutations may occur.
3
Q
What is dna replication ?
A
Is the process where dna strands are copied to form twice as much DNA in each cell. This occurs in the nucleus prior to cell division (mitosis and meiosis) and is important to ensure all new cells have correct amounts of DNA for accurate gene expression.
