Q

What are the bases called and what do they code for?

A

Adenosine + Thymine
Cytosine + Guanine
3 bases = 1 amino acid
The order determines a different amino acid and they code for the shape and function of proteins including structural, enzymes, hormones, antibodies and receptors

Q

Describe the process of proton synthesis

A
  1. mRNA carries a copy of the DNA out of the nucleus out into the cytoplasm to meet a ribosome
  2. Proteins are then assembled from the base and amino acid order
