unfair dismissal most commonly brought for employment tibunal

special type of court which deal with employee claims for discrimination, unfair dismissal and victimisation

less formal than a criminal court - 2 ordinary members with one from employer and one from employee + legally qualified chairman

many are settled before reaching tribunal stage
