A
- AF and atrial flutters
- HF

Dose Range
A
D(loading) = 250 – 500mcg every 4-6 hours (m=1.5mg)
D(maintenance) = 125 – 250 mcg once daily
*halve doses in renally impaired

SE’s
A
- anorexia
- n/v
- diarrhoea
- blurred vision
- drowsiness
thrombocytopenia, seizures, confusion, psychosis, gynaecomastia (RARE)

Counselling
A
Label: 5
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist that you are taking digoxin before using any other medicines, including OTC medications
- be aware of signs of toxicity
• anorexia
• n/v
• visual disturbances (blurred vision, yellow vision) - Risk of digoxin toxicity is increased by conditions/medications causing hypokalaemia, hypomagnesaemia, hypercalcaemia, acidosis, hypoxia.

- Electrolyte concentration
- digoxin concentration (alter dose if required)
- resting heart rate
