- Tachyarrhythmia

- P’vent migraine

Dose range?
A
Hypertension, angina
25–100 mg daily in 1 or 2 doses
Migraine prevention
25–100 mg once daily.
Tachyarrhythmias
50–100 mg once daily
MI Maintenance
50 mg once daily

SE’s?
A
- SOB
- bronchospasm
- cold extremities
- nightmares
- insomnia
- decreased BP and HR
- fatigue, dizzy, decreased concentration
- impotence

Counselling points
A
Labels: 9, 12+, 13, 16
- This medicine may cause dizziness or tiredness especially at the start of treatment or when the dose is increased; if affected, do not drive or operate machinery.
- If you feel dizzy, get up gradually from sitting or lying to minimise this effect; sit or lie down if you become dizzy.
- Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly unless your doctor tells you to.

- whether the medication is working
- SE’s (asthma - SOB, Diabetes - sugar levels)
- renal and hepatic function (when one is impaired, use the other route of elimination)
