Digestive, urinary and respiratory - relationships Flashcards
respiratory, cardiovascular and muscular
The respiratory system is involved in respiration and brings O2 from external environment to lungs.
This then diffuses into bloodstream and is delivered to all tissues by CV system.
Muscles then uptake O2 and use it to produce energy as CO2.
respiratory, urinary and digestive
All work together to remove waste eg. CO2, urea and urine and faeces
resp system – removes CO2 through expiration (after gaseous exchange) to remove from body
urinary system – removes wastes through the kidneys, excess water, urea and salts do not get absorbed and are excreted via urine and the urethra
digestive system – absorbs nutrients and then indigestible molecules travel through to the large intestine to be stored in the rectum and excreted from the anus.
