Cardiovascular system - baroreceptor reflex Flashcards
1
Q
BR - if BP is high
A
When BP is high, baroreceptors will become stimulated, decreasing HR, SV and cardiac output, resulting in vasodilation. This would decrease BP, returning it to WNL in order to achieve a state of balance (homeostasis)
2
Q
What is BP WNL
A
less than 120/80
3
Q
BR - if BP is low
A
When BP is low, baroreceptors will become inhibited, increasing HR, SV and cardiac output, resulting in vasoconstriction. This would increase BP, returning it to WNL in order to achieve a state of balance (homeostasis)
