What is peptic ulcers?
sore in the lining of stomach or duodenum where tissues are inflamed –> mucus become weak
Why does peptic ulcers occur?
When acid-resistant bacterium is attached to the walls which prevent mucus growth
What is peptic ulcers painful?
tissues are coming in contact with gastric acid
What is IBD stand for?
Inflammatory bowl disease
What is IBD?
Inflammation of the intestine
What are the 2 types of IBD?
- Crohns -> affects the alimentary canal
- Ulcerative colitis -> affects colon
What is constipation caused by?
lack of water or nerves/muscle is unable to function
What is constipation?
bowl movement lessens and stoll becomes hard to eliminate
What can you do to prevent constipation?
Eat fibers
What is hepatitis?
Inflammatory of the liver
What are the 3 types of hepatitis?
A = contaminated water
B = sexually
C = blood
What is cirrhosis?
regular/healthy tissues are replaced by scared ones
What causes cirrhosis?
- hep C and alcoholism
What is gallstones caused by?
Cholesterol in bile forming crystals
Why are endoscopes useful?
- testing/do surgeries without cutting a patient
- uses alimentary canal (mouth/anus)
- help confirmation medical problems
