to the presence of Cholecystokinin in the intestinal phase of digestion.
What happens when it contracts?
bile and pancreatic juices are secreted from the Gallbladder and the pancreas into the duodenum.

What does the bile consist of?
. It consists of Water, Mineral salts, mucous, bile salts, bile pigments (bilirubin) and cholesterol.
What is the bile functions?
emulsifies fats in the small intestine
What does the bile make cholesterol and fatty acids?
soluble enabling their absorption along with fat soluble vitamins and bile salts
What does the bile facilitate
the excretion of bilirubin (a waste product from the breaking down of red-blood cells).
