Conversación con la señora que buscaba la carnicería

A
  1. Si sabías dónde estaba la carnicería:

Lady:
Excuse me, do you know where I can find a butcher shop around here?

You:
Yes! There’s a really good one just two blocks down that street, on the right-hand side. It’s called Carnes Don Luis.

Lady:
Oh, thank you so much! I just moved here from Texas and I’ve been trying to figure out where everything is.

You:
Welcome! Big change, huh?

Lady:
Huge! It’s greener here, and the people are super nice—but I really miss my old butcher back in Texas.

You:
Well, this one’s pretty good too. They’re super friendly and have great cuts. Hope you like it!

Lady:
Thanks again, I appreciate it!

  1. Si no sabías, pero trataron de resolverlo juntos:

Lady:
Hi there, do you happen to know where I could find a butcher shop nearby?

You:
Hmm… I’m not really sure, I’m not from around here either. Maybe try asking at the bakery on the corner? They might know.

Lady:
That’s a good idea, thank you. I just moved here from Texas and still don’t know my way around.

You:
Oh wow, welcome! Big move?

Lady:
Yeah, it’s been a bit overwhelming, but I’m getting there. Just trying to find all the basics.

You:
Totally understandable. Hope you settle in quickly!

  1. Si la conversación se fue por el lado personal:

Lady:
Excuse me, do you know if there’s a butcher shop nearby?

You:
I think there’s one a few blocks from here, but I’m not exactly sure.

Lady:
That’s okay, I’ll keep walking around. I just moved here last week from Texas.

You:
Really? That’s a big change! How are you finding it so far?

Lady:
It’s different, for sure. I miss home, but people here are kind. I’m just trying to make it feel like home.

You:
It’ll happen. Sometimes all it takes is finding “your” bakery, your coffee spot, your butcher, you know?

Lady:
Exactly! That’s why I’m on this little mission today.

You:
Well, good luck on the mission. Hope you find a place you love!

Q

Lo que hice el fin de semana. Braulio Carrillo y Transitarte.

A

You: Hey!
Friend: Hey! How was your weekend?
You: Pretty good, actually. On Saturday I went hiking in Braulio Carrillo.
Friend: Nice! That place is amazing. Did you do a long trail?
You: Yeah, I did one of the longer ones—lots of greenery, and the air was so fresh.
Friend: Sounds awesome. Did it rain?
You: Not this time, luckily! After that, I went to Transitarte in San José.
Friend: Oh cool! I haven’t been this year. How was it?
You: Really lively. Lots of art, music, and food stands. It had such a great vibe.
Friend: Sounds like the perfect weekend.
You: Totally. Nature and culture—best combo.
