I grew up with both Jamie and Nik. I am about seven years older than them. My mom was friends with Nik’s mom, and I babysat Nik often. Jamie was often around their house as well.

Jamie and Nik have been best friends since childhood. Nik was always the more responsible and level-headed, likely keeping Jamie out of trouble. They had a strong bond, though there were recent tensions due to business issues.
Did you witness any altercations between Jamie and Nik that night?
No, I did not witness any altercations between Jamie and Nik. They were playing pool together, and it seemed like Nik was trying to defuse any tension by talking things over.
Can you testify about Jamie’s behaviour and state of mind during the incident?
Jamie looked sad and downcast throughout the night. He seemed more reflective and regretful rather than angry. When he talked to me at the bar, he was seeking reassurance and seemed to understand his faults in the situation with Nik.

Around 11:30 p.m., Jamie came up to the bar and asked if the situation with Nik was his fault. I told him that it was and that he shouldn’t take Nik for granted. Jamie looked sad and pained during our conversation.
Did you see any other nearby individuals who were involved in any way with Rogers? If so, can you describe them and their actions?
Yes, a person dressed like a cowboy interrupted my conversation with Jamie, rudely asking for service. Jamie mouthed off at the cowboy, but I told him to calm down. The cowboy’s interruption seemed to upset Jamie.
Could you ever imagine Rogers being involved in that incident?
No, I can’t imagine Jamie being involved in harming Nik. They were best friends, and Jamie seemed more sad and reflective about their situation rather than angry or violent.
