Device Replacement Process Flashcards
Why?
IT departments have limited vision to the actual use and TCO information of their current devices. Win themes can be generated by understanding how MPS can help them build a road map to have the most efficient fleet possible based on actual need and usage
Potential questions
How are devices (copiers and printers) purchased?
Who owns the budget for device replacements?
Who approves the device procurement?
Are devices purchased in bulk?
Does the organization follow a replacement schedule?
Does IT install printers or do use the vendor for assistance?
How are new units vetted to be compatible with the needs of the organization?
Example workflow
IT vets printers and makes device standards list> user needs a device >user seeks approval from manager to obtain a device>manager approves a set point >user asks IT for a device at that price point >IT will procure the user a device based on the stated need and desired price range available on the standards list>AP follows the billing process to pay the invoice and allocate funds to the department
How it works with HP?
HP can review actual usage and build a recommendation list based on need and total cost of operation to find the most efficient and most appropriate device
Each device will have it’s own recommendation from HP
IT can use this information as a roadmap to build a standards list and to make recommendations on device replacements
