bowens disease
slow. growing red scaly plaque = squamous cell carcinoma in situ
tx = freeze or topical fluorouracil
GENITAL wart treatment
multiple, non-keratinised warts: topical podophyllum
solitary, keratinised warts: cryotherapy
Necrotising fasciitis:
most commonly affected site is the perineum
dapagliflozin, which is an SGLT-2 inhibitor
acute onset pain, swelling, erythema at the affected site
rapidly worsening cellulitis with pain out of keeping with physical features
classic rash in lyme disease
tx
Erythema chronicum migrans (‘bulls-eye’)
tx doxycycline 21 days
psoriasis tx
1st line potent steroid + vit d analogue eg topical betametasone and topical calcipitrol 4 weeks
lichen planus
lichen sclerosis
lichen planus = mouth often (plain taste)
sclerosis affects the genitalia and is more common in elderly females - itch present
drug that can trigger psoriasis
lithium
beta blockers
antimalarials
NSAIDs and ACE inhibitors,
infliximab
drug trigger erythema nodosum
sulfonamides (such as sulfasalazine), and the combined oral contraceptive pill.
treat aktinic keratosis ?
topical flurouracil
Seborrhoeic keratoses .
common in people over 50
It has the classic ‘stuck on’ appearance of seborrhoeic keratoses.
