Q

The density of water is 1g/mL, if I add another 5mL of water (increasing the volume), what will the density of water be?

A

It will still be 1g/mL, the density of a substance never changes, even if the quantity (mass or volume) does

Q

How do u find the density of a liquid?

A

First measure the mass of the empty graduated cylinder. Next measure the mass of the cylinder with the liquid. Minus the two results= mass

Q

when you go to an Italian restaurant they give oil and vinegar to dip your bread into. The waiter comes and pours oil and then vinegar onto a plate. Why does the oil not combine with the vinegar?

A

The oil has a smaller density so it’s like the vinegar is the first layer and the oil is the second layer and the vinegar is keeping I‎t up.
