what is a delusion?
strong belief that they wont disregard even though there is strong evidence against it e.g thinking the CIA is spying on you
what is this an example of?
thinking the TV is sending you a message

what is a hallucination?
an experience involving the apparent perception of something which is not present
(perception in absence of external stimuli)
e.g hearing voices or sounds when they arent there
when do hypnagogic hallucinations occurs?
when going to sleep
when do hypnopompic hallucinations occur?
when waking up from sleep
what is an illusion?
misinterpretations of actual external stimuli e.g hearing the wind blowing but thinking its the birds chirping
what is loosening of associations?
when ideas are presented with illogical connections between them
flight of ideas
quickly moving between topics but there is a link
overvalued idea
an unreasonable sustained belief but not as intense as a delusion
passivity phenomena
when you are no longer in control of your own thoughts etc. something external is.
apathy
lack of interest, enthusiasm, concern
catard syndrome (delusion)
