Q

What must be monitored while giving unfractioned heparin? What is the half life like in comparison to LMWH

A

PTT
shorter half life than LMWH. That’s why patient is started on heparin then bridged to LMWH as the half life is longer and takes longer to kick in. Same with Coumadin.
