Deck 4 Flashcards
What is pathogenesis of fever?
-Exogenous pyrogens –> produce fever through action of endogenous pyrogens, are released after initial stimulation of phagocytic cells.
Endogenous pyrogens cause fever -> stimulate hypothalamic prostaglandin .
Prostaglandin enter brain substance & active AMP thermostat in hypothalamus shifts up
Effect of catecholamine in stress?
METABOLIC EFFECTS: increase glycogenesis in the liver -> hyperglycemia
ON CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM:
-increase heart rate
-vasoconstriction of resistant arterioles + increased blood pressure
-constriction of capacity & increase venous return
-vasoconstriction in skin & mucous membrane
-increase blood flow in heart, brain & skeletal muscles
-vasodilation of coronary arteria & arterioles
Describe dysfunction during healing?
-hypovolemia = decrease blood volume –> constriction of B.V , less delivery of inflammation cells to site of injury
- anti-inflammatory cells
-insufficient nutrition during healing
-hypoxemic state –> decreasing of O2
Dysfunction during reconstructive phase?
- cirrhosis of liver –> portal hypertension
- nutritional factors may interfere with production of collagen
- can be caused excessive production of collagen
- impaired contraction –> excessive wound contraction cause deformity
Describe compensation of respiratory alkalosis?
- chemical buffering
- respiratory compensation
- renal correction
