  • pyrexia, fever goes up to 3 c
  • hyperpyrexia, more than 3 c

A
  • loss of H ions from ECF - vomoiting in monogastric animals, increased urea in blood
  • intake alkaloid substances
  • increased retention of base & Na in body, ptyalism- ‘high salivation’ (horse & cattle)
  • diuretics
    loss or depletion of potassium from body in hypokalemia
