I like her paintings both as works of art and as historical documents. I’m not old enough to recognize all the scenes, but everything is familiar to me. Nothing in the paintings is so different from my childhood years.

The exhibition also includes paintings by her husband Harold. I like two of her portraits of women that are reminiscent of Ver Meer’s Letter Reader. The subjects are not holding a letter but an object of curiosity. It is a reinterpretation of the scenes painted by Ver Meer but in a modern setting.
