Unlawfully:
Without lawful justification or excuse
Takes away:
Generally refers to situations where the victim is physically removed from one place to another
Detains:
“Detaining” is an active concept rather than a passive one. Doing something to impose a constraint.
Consent:
A persons conscious and voluntary agreement to something desired or proposed.
Sexual Connection:
- Introduction into genitalia or anus by
another person, other than for medical
purpose, using part of their body or
object manipulated - Connection between mouth or tongue of one person and a part of another persons genitalia or anus
- The continuation of connection of a kind described in (a) or (b)
Fraud:
Deceiving victim by misrepresenting the facts
Duress:
Agreement based on fear or refusal. May arise from actual or implied threat of force to victim or another person but can also include other forms of pressure or coercion.
Intent:
To commit a deliberate act with intent to get a specific result
Marriage/Civil Union:
Engage in marriage/civil union
Go through a form of marriage/civil union/unlawful sexual connection:
Takes away or detains victim for another to marry or to have sexual connection with
Ransom:
Money demanded or paid for release
Service:
Hold as servant or slave
Confined:
Restricting movements
Imprisoned:
As if in prison
