Bodily fluids: blood, saliva, semen, urine, and breast milk

No
What population is most likely to show symptoms of Cytomegalovirus?
Immunocompromised
Once you become infected with Cytomegalovirus, does it remain in your body forever?
Yes
When is Cytomegalovirus a concern for pregnant women?
If they have an active infection, especially a primary infection. They can pass it congenitally or through breast milk
A congenital infection can cause what symptoms?
Jaundice, rash, low birth weight, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly, hepatic dysfunction, seizures
Is there a cure for Cytomegalovirus?
No, but symptomatic immunosuppressed can get antivirals
How is Cytomegalovirus prevented? (Prevention is key!)
Avoiding bodily fluids, safe sex, personal hygiene, don’t share glasses/kitchen utensils, disposal of infected items
