cytokines Flashcards
cytokines secreted by macrophages
IL1, IL6, IL8, IL12, TNFalpha
cytokines secreted by all T-cells
IL2, IL3
cytokines secreted by Th1 cells
IFN-y
cytokines secreted by Th2 cells
IL4, IL5, IL10
role of Th1 cells
promotes cytotoxic pathway. Antihumoral defense. Stimulates granulomas, macrophage activation, CD8 cell activation
role of Th2 cells
promotes humoral immunity. Isotype switching.
antiinflammatory cytokines
IL10, IL13, TGF-B
IL1
pyrogen. Endothelium activation (LAD expression). Promotes differentiation of naive Th0 cells
IL6
pyrogen.
IL8
neutrophil chemotactic factor
IL12
induces Th1 cell differentiation. Activates NK cells. Secreted by B cells
TNFa
mediates septic shock = endothelium activation, vascular leakage, leukocyte recruitment.
IL2
Autocrine signal for all T-cells to grow and differentiation. Paracrine signal for B-cell, mpnocytes and NK cells to grow.
IL3
functiosn like GM-CSF - promotes bone marrow growth and differentiation
IFN-g
activates macrophages and TH1. increases expression of MHC I and II in all cells.
