- B1-adrenoreceptor antagonism
- Blocks Epinephrine neurotransmitter from agonising B1-adrenoreceptor
- Decreases HR + BP

- Hx of obstructive airway disease
- Mysathenia gravis
- Portal HTN (liver function can deteriorate)

- Hypoglycaemia (can mask symptoms)
- Thyrotoxicosis (can mask symptoms)
