What is the GENERAL Diuretic MOA of Bendroflumethiazide? (2 steps)
A
- Inhibits Chloride reabsorption @ Distal Tubule (via Na-Cl cotransporter)
- This increases Excretion of: Na, Cl, H2O

What is the THIAZIDE Diuretic MOA of Bendroflumethiazide? (2 steps)
A
- Inhibits Na transport across Renal Tubular Epithelium (by binding to Thiazide sensitive NaCl transporter)
- This increases Excretion of K (via NK exchanger)

A
Monitor electrolytes during tx (esp @ high doses / prolonged use)
