What are the common indications for Adrenaline?
A
- Cardiac arrest in ALS treatment algorithm
- Anaphylaxis
- Used during endoscopy as vasoconstriction
- Prolong anaesthesia

What is the mode of action for adrenaline?
A
- Agonists of alpha 1,2 beta 1,2 adrenoreceptors: fight/flight
- Vasoconstriction of vessels supplying skin: alpha 1
- Inc HR, vasodilation of vessels supplying heart: Beta1
- Broncodilation and suppression of mast cells

What are the important adverse effects of Adrenaline?
A
- In cardiac arrest, followed hypertension
- Anxiety, headaches, tremor, palpitation
- May cause angina, MI and arrythmias

What is an important warning concerning Adrenaline?
A
Where patients receiving beta blockers also, adrenaline may induce widespread Vasoconstriction, since not opposed by beta2 mediated vasodilation.

How is adrenaline PX?
A
In life threatening conditions it is administered first then prescribed
