Signs and Sx pityriasis versicolor

A

usually asymto, or patches that aren’t tanning
can appear as dark spots on white skin,
OR white area on brown skin

very fine small scales, with darker outside rings

A

Ketoconazole shampoo,

Sx of dermaphytisi

A

Annular rash anywhere on the body
called tinea + area

usually light inside and dark outside
not always in annular shape
with steroids can get worse-good Hx

candida-erosive area and whitish discharges, looks red and RAW
while tinea more scaly borders–both dermaphytis

what is tine capitis

A

Fungal infection of the scalp -most common in Children (3-7 year)
very contagion

presents as golden crust in scalp area
dry scale, black dots, hair loss-

treat fast because can cause scarring

take scraping and cultures-then give oral anti-fungals (tubernafine) for 4-6 weeks
