cubital fossa Flashcards
1
Q
what are the boundaries of the cubital fossa?
A
medial = pronator teres Lateral = Brachioradialis and supinator Roof = deep fascia of arm and bicipital aponeurosis Floor = Brachialis and supinator muscles Superior = line betwenn two humeral epicondyles
2
Q
What are the contents of the cubital fossa?
A
- Medial nerve
- brachial artery (dividing into radial and ulnar)
- Tendon of biceps brachii
- Radial nerve (divides into superficial and deep branch)
3
Q
what 3 deep muscles does the anterior interosseous branch of the median nerve supply?
A
- flexor pollicis longus
- Flexor digitorum profundus (lateral half)
- pronator quadratus
4
Q
what is the position of the radial nerve in the cubital fossa?
A
radial nerve lies between brachialis and brachioradialis
5
Q
Where does the ulnar nerve lie in relation to the end of the humerus?
A
Ulnar nerve lies posterior to the medial epicondyle of the humerus.
