Dorsal Scapular nerve (function and nerve roots)
Nerve Root = C5
Innervates:
- Levator Scapulae
- Rhomboid Major
- Rhomboid Minor
Suprascapular nerve (function and nerve roots)
Nerve Root = C5 and C6
Innervates:
- Supraspinatus
- Infraspinatus
Musculocutaneous nerve
Nerve Roots = C5, C6 and C7 (terminal branch of LATERAL cord)
Innervates :
Biceps Brachii
Coracobrachialis
Brachialis
Median nerve
Nerve Roots = C6, C7, C8 and T1
(Terminal branch, has contribution from Lateral and Median cords)
Innervates:
- Pronator Teres
- Flexor carpi radialis
- Palmaris longus
- Flexor digitorum superficialis
- Anterior interosseous (branch of median) supplies:
- Lateral 1/2 of flexor digitorum profundus
- pronator quadratus
- flexor pollicis longus
- Recurrent median nerve branch supplies thenar muscles:
- Abductor pollicis brevis
- Flexor pollicis brevis
- Opponens pollicis
Lateral Pectoral nerve
Nerve Roots = C5, C6 and C7 (branch from lateral cord)
Innervates:
-Pectoralis Major
Upper / superior / short Subscapular nerve
Nerve Roots = C5
Innervates:
-Subscapular
Thoracodorsal nerve
Nerve Roots = C6, C7 and C8
Innervates = Latissimus Dorsi
Lower / inferior subscapular
Nerve Roots = C6
Innervates :
- Subscapular
- Teres Major
Axillary nerve
Nerve Roots = C5 and C6
*terminal branch of posterior cord
Innervates :
- Teres Minor
- Deltoid
Radial nerve
Nerve Roots = C5, C6, C7 , C8 and T1
*Terminal branch of posterior cord
Innervates:
- Triceps Brachii (lateral and medial heads)
- Brachioradialis
- anconeus
- Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus
deep branch of radial nerve:
- Extensor carpi radialis brevis
- Supinator
Posterior Interosseous:
- Extensor digitorum communis
- Extensor digiti minimi
- Extensor carpi ulnaris
- abductor pollicis longus
- extensor pollicis brevis
- extensor pollicis longus
- extensor indices
Medial Pectoral nerve
nerve roots = C8 and T1
Innervates :
- Pectoralis Minor
- Pectoralis Major
Ulnar nerve
Nerve Roots = C8 and T1
Innervates:
- flexor carpi ulnaris
- (medial half of) flexor digitorum profundus
Deep branch of ulnar:
- 3rd and 4th Lumbricals
- Opponens digiti minimi
- flexor digiti minimi
- abductor digiti minimi
- adductor pollicis
- Interossei
Long thoracic nerve
Nerve Roots = C5, C6, C7 and C8
Innervates = Serratus Anterior
