A
- changes as people get older
- needs from a place change
- e.g move into a new house , need the area to provide you with a job but access to shops, bars but when start a family you will need open space and larger housing

A
- difference between men and women
- safety is a major factor if perception
- e.g avoid going to unlit areas or avoiding whole countries
- planners no factor this onto their developments of areas

Sexuality
A
- acceptance of certain sexual orientations alters perceptions (LGBTQ)
- e.g Brighton
- people tend to cluster together were they feel like they can be themselves
- can help tourism

Religion
A
- people have given spiritual meanings to certain areas
-e.g Stonehenge - religions such as Islam have given meanings to various places by building mosques/ churches
- international location e.g Mecca
- places ares seen as areas of refuge and peace

Role
A
- position or responsibility within a community/ group
- influence our perceptions of a location and how we behave
- gain and lose roles as we age

Emotional Attachment
A
- memory is personal due to our experiences they are also highly selective
- if we have a positive experience of a place we are likely to have a stronger emotional attachment
- they are also social ( receive them as groups)
- e.g sports fan to their fav team ground
