Ethics
Law enforcement ethics includes two distinguishable topics:
corruption and noncorrupt misconduct
Used in its traditional sense, involves an officers misuse of police authority for personal gain:
corruption
This may involve issues such as excessive use of force, violation of a suspects constitutional rights
police misconduct
Warns a person that criminal behavior is wrong, as well as unlawful and warns that misconduct on the job is wrong, substandard conduct.
Ethical awareness

jury nullification
Is care fairly and properly taken in response to the circumstances of a situation, such care as an ordinary prudent person would take in the same time frame, conditions.
Reasonable care
Jump-starting an inner moral sense in decisions on the moral quality of actions and discriminating between right and wrong
Self-discipline and judgment
