Detain potential suspects, render medical assistance to those who need it, don’t destroy add or alter any evidence, prevent others including superiors from doing the same.
When are crime scene photos taken?
Before evidence collection.
What should crime scene sketches include? (9)
The case identifier, date, time, location, weather and lighting conditions, identity and assignments of personnel, dimensions of everything, distances between objects and indication of magnetic north.
What is the only consistent thing about crime scenes?
Inconsistency
What is the first priority at a crime scene?
To determine if a crime was committed

What is the role and value of physical evidence? (9)
Can prove a crime has been committed; can establish ID of persons involved; can place the suspect with the victim; can exonerate the innocent; can corroborate the victims testimony; suspects confronted with evidence are more likely to confess; court is reliant on it; juries expect it; negative evidence may provide useful information.
What is the forensic scientists goal?
To prove the facts of the crime.
